Even then, in certain disease Siravedhana has edge over other method of Raktamokshana. It is indicated in physically strong and courageous people. Morbidity of Raktadhatu when generalized is best treated by Siravedhana.
Preoperative procedure
We ask the patient to sit in a comfortable position and apply any medicated oil or ghee on the affected part. Then we do a swedana procedure (perspiration) on the affected part.
Procedure
While the patient is in the same posture, a tourniquet is tied to arrest the circulation of vitiated blood. Then according to the type of Raktamokshana being administered, the appliance is used to release the vitiated blood.
Our group of alert physicians keeps checking for any kind of complication during the process of Raktamokshana.
Postoperative procedure
After the vitiated blood is released, the tourniquet is removed, and the area is wiped clean. We ask the patient to rest for a while and keep inspecting their condition.

Raktamokshana is the best method to purify vitiated rakta (blood). People regularly undergoing Raktamokshana will not be afflicted with skin disorders, swelling, and other bleeding disorders.
